Researchers can visit this centre and engage in their research in this centre. A special section has been arranged for the study of tribal culture of Wayanad. The Wayanad district is focal centre that share the culture of neighbouring Tamil and Kannada region. Some of the rare items of display are the following.

- Miniature model and Transcript of Vattezhuthu Script of AD 1051. This stone inscription was collected from Kappikunnu near Pulpally. This is one of the rare ancient stone inscription in Kerala having a clear date of its foundation. In this script offering is made to Yaksha, evidently an attendant deity of the Jain Tirthankara. The Epigraphic reference to the establishment of a nakaram indicates that Pulpally was a centre of trade. It was probably a Jain trade centre of early middle ages. From this inscription it is evident that one of the leading trade guild (corporate bodies) nalppathennayiravar usually visited Puplally as a part of their long distance trade between southern coastal region and central Deccan.
- Remains of a Jain Basti of 11 th century AD
- Traditional artefacts related to Paddy cultivation in Wayaand
