The applications in Computer Science are indispensable part of our lives, shaping everything around us in the way in which we live, travel, work, play, connect & socialise. Learning is a continuous process and does not end at all. The department believes that innovative teaching-learning methods, coupled with problem solving & self-study helps the students to enhance their skills and enable them to handle the challenges faced in their professional life.
The Department of Computer Applications is one of the prestigious departments of Pazhassiraja College. As Computer applications is a complementary course for various streams it started in 1995 when department of Tourism started UG course in Tourism. It offered complementary course in Computer applications. Later in 1999 Dept of Microbiology also started B.Sc. Microbiology with Computer application as a complementary course. Now various courses like BBA, BA English, BA Economics, MCJ and B Voc have included IT as one of their subjects. Department conducted Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) course in collaboration with Centre for Continuing Education, Govt. of Kerala. Around 150 students completed the course with 100% pass percentage.
